SpaceX has received approval for 444 acres of land near the Port of Brownsville, paving the way for the company’s large-scale expansion. The city also approved a major infrastructure agreement with SpaceX, including up to $220 million in funding for regional water supply and wastewater treatment projects, comprising an initial escrow contribution of $40 million and six additional quarterly payments of $30 million each. These projects are expected to increase water supply capacity by approximately 18 million gallons per day and will fund water reuse, wastewater recycling, and the expansion of the Southmost Regional Water Authority’s facility.
