Goldman Sachs Trading Desk: Gold's 10% Rally This Month May Slow, But "Currency Debasement Trade" Is Far From Over
Goldman Sachs derivatives strategist Brian Garrett noted in his latest report that gold's 10% gain this month marks one of its best monthly performances in decades. Market attention to the "currency debasement" narrative has climbed to its highest level since January 2026. The Goldman Sachs trading desk currently favors capturing upside opportunities through structured products such as call spreads or barrier options, rather than directly chasing the rally. Additionally, Goldman Sachs maintains its S&P 500 target of 4900 points and warns of continued upside risk.
