Hong Kong Regulators Select 36 AI Use Cases for Financial Sector GenAI Trials
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Securities and Futures Commission, Insurance Authority, and Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority have selected the first batch of projects for an expanded generative AI testing programme. The 36 use cases involve 30 financial institutions and 27 technology partners, covering banking, securities, insurance, and pensions. Trials will focus on agentic AI applications in processes like customer onboarding, payments, and insurance claims, with technical trials due to begin later this year.
