South Korea's PanStar Acro container ship entered Arctic waters on Monday, becoming the first vessel supported by the South Korean government to undertake a trial voyage on the Northern Sea Route.
The vessel departed from Busan New Port on August 22, carrying 737 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) containers of cargo. South Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries stated that the PanStar Acro is expected to exit the Arctic Ocean around September 7-8.
