India's government released data on Monday showing that GDP grew by 7.8% year-on-year from April to June 2026, exceeding market expectations of 7.1% and the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) previous forecast of 7%. However, this represents a slowdown from the previous quarter's 8.6%. Strong performance in manufacturing, investment, and financial services were the main drivers, with India's loan growth reaching 18.3% at the end of June, the highest level in over a decade.
