Bitmine Immersion Technologies announced on Monday that it acquired 53,501 Ether tokens over the past week, increasing its corporate treasury to 5,901,112 ETH. At $2,511 per ETH, the holdings are valued at approximately $14.8 billion, making Bitmine the world's largest corporate holder of Ether, accounting for 4.9% of Ethereum's supply. Chairman Tom Lee stated that Ether has been the 'best performing macro asset', outperforming the S&P 500 by 5,430 basis points in Q3 through August 28, and believes this sets the stage for institutions to increase their crypto holdings.
