Amazon disclosed plans to invest more than $5.3 billion (19.88 billion Saudi riyal) in its first AWS Cloud Infrastructure Region in Saudi Arabia, with the launch targeted for December 2026. This multi-year capital commitment is part of AWS's global infrastructure expansion. Additionally, AWS and HUMAIN, a Public Investment Fund-owned company, will provide up to 50 megawatts of capacity in Saudi Arabia's first AI Zone by 2028, powered by AWS Trainium chips and NVIDIA AI infrastructure. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy stated that AWS is on track to become a trillion-dollar annual revenue business.
