The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), joined by attorneys general from 22 states, has filed a lawsuit against Amazon, accusing the e-commerce giant of systematically overcharging 1.2 million advertisers by more than $20 billion since 2019. The complaint, filed Monday in a Seattle federal court, alleges that Amazon inflated advertising prices by manipulating its ad bidding auction mechanism. Amazon denies the claims, stating that its ad auctions saved advertisers $8 billion during the same period. Following this news, Amazon's stock closed down 2.5% on Monday.
