The Northern Territory has started commercial production from the nation's first shale gas wells, with natural gas from Tamboran Resources Corp.’s Shenandoah South project set to begin flowing into the network on Tuesday. This initiative aims to power a wave of new data centers in the region. The Beetaloo Basin, home to one of Australia’s largest onshore gas reserves, is forecast to generate over A$17 billion ($12.2 billion) in economic value over the next two decades.
