Bank of America Merrill Lynch reported that China's AI model market saw intensive upgrades in August, with the gap between domestic models and global top-tier levels continuing to narrow. According to Artificial Analysis data, Moonshot AI's Kimi K3 and Zhipu AI's GLM-5.3 both achieved an intelligence score of 60, equivalent to 95% of Claude Opus 5's score. In terms of usage, OpenRouter data shows that DeepSeek V4 Flash and Tencent Hy3 led in cumulative token usage in August, with DeepSeek ranking first with a 22% weekly token usage share.
