Mifeng announced on August 31 that its 20,000th MEgo disembodied data collection device has rolled off the production line and been delivered to JD Technology Group. Concurrently, Mifeng's cumulative production of disembodied data has exceeded 1 million hours, and it has signed a business cooperation agreement with Tencent Robotics X Lab. Yao Maoqing, CEO of Mifeng, stated that the embodied data industry is heading towards an oligopoly, primarily due to the substantial investment in equipment (hundreds of millions of yuan), the storage of hundreds of petabytes of data, and the immense costs of data center construction, which demand strong engineering, operational, and financial capabilities from enterprises. He also pointed out that disembodied data is suitable for the pre-training phase, while real-machine data is suitable for post-training, indicating a hierarchical rather than substitutive relationship between the two; the future path for data volume growth from millions to hundreds of millions of hours will be through a crowdsourcing model.
