South Korea's antitrust regulator, the Fair Trade Commission (FTC), sent approximately 30 investigators to Coupang's Seoul headquarters on Tuesday. This renewed inspection, conducted under a different law, marks a significant escalation in the standoff between the regulator and the e-commerce giant, coming just over a week after Coupang blocked an earlier inspection. The FTC reportedly demanded records covering nearly a decade of business activities and transactions.
