Norwegian oil producer DNO has agreed to acquire Capricorn Energy for approximately $396 million in cash, with its offer of $5.214 per share representing a premium of about 10% over Genel Energy's previous offer of $4.74 per share. Capricorn's board now unanimously recommends DNO's deal, despite its shareholders having approved Genel's proposal on August 18. This acquisition will give DNO entry into the Egyptian upstream oil and gas sector.
