South Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) has proposed a record budget of 82.6 trillion won (approximately $59 billion) for 2027, a 10.8% increase from this year. The ministry stated at a pre-release briefing on Monday that this would be its largest annual budget growth rate since its re-establishment in 2013. According to the proposal, 38.8 trillion won of the budget will be allocated to fisheries and coastal communities.
