Bitcoin miner Hut 8's Texas power site will support Anthropic's $35 billion AI compute contract.
AI giant Anthropic has agreed to purchase $35 billion worth of computing power from NVIDIA-backed AI cloud company Lambda, the Wall Street Journal reported late Monday. Part of this computing power will run through Hut 8's Beacon Point campus in Nueces County, Texas, which is leased by NVIDIA. Lambda will use NVIDIA chips there, and Anthropic will purchase the resulting computing power. Hut 8 previously disclosed two 15-year leases for this campus, involving 704 megawatts of IT capacity, with a total contract value of $19.6 billion, more than 260 times its latest quarterly revenue.
