Fervo Energy signed a record-breaking 396 MW geothermal power purchase agreement with Google to power a potential data center in Utah.
The agreement is the largest enhanced geothermal power purchase agreement to date, covering Fervo's Cape Station project in southwest Utah, which is expected to come online in 2028. Google also has the option to expand its purchases by approximately 600 megawatts to nearly 1 gigawatt by June 2030.
