Japan's Nippon Seiki to acquire Denso's head-up display business
Japan's Nippon Seiki has agreed to acquire the head-up display (HUD) business from fellow automotive components manufacturer Denso. The transaction, valued at Y1.16 billion ($7.2 million) as of March 31, 2026, includes Denso's HUD development, manufacturing, and sales operations across Japan, China, Spain, the US, and Mexico. Nippon Seiki aims to optimize its development and production systems, build a stable global supply framework, and strengthen cost competitiveness through this acquisition. The deal, which requires approval from Japan's Fair Trade Commission and other regulatory clearances, is expected to close on February 26, 2027. The purchase price will be less than 1% of Nippon Seiki's consolidated net assets for the year ending March 2026.
