Google AI Infrastructure Head: Accelerating Custom Chip Development, Releasing Two or More Annually
Google's head of AI infrastructure, Amin Vahdat, stated on Wednesday that the company is accelerating the development and release cycle of its custom chips from one generation every two years to two per year, with even more planned for the future, to maintain its leadership in artificial intelligence. Google also plans to expand its R&D space in Taiwan by 60% to double down on research and development.
