Bitcoin (BTC) hovered around $77,000 on Wednesday, following a sell-off in global bond markets that sent yields soaring, while escalating tensions between the US and Iran pushed Brent crude prices above $95. Japan's 10-year government bond yield remained above 3% on Wednesday after breaking that level for the first time since 1996 on Tuesday. Government bond yields in the US and Europe also rose in tandem. Joel Kruger, market strategist at LMAX Group, stated that cryptocurrencies continue to show relative resilience amidst an increasingly challenging global macro backdrop, with strong buy-the-dip demand. A K33 report indicated that global Bitcoin ETPs saw inflows of 52,152 BTC in August, the highest since November 2024, and Strategy also increased its holdings by 4,603 BTC last week, valued at $369.7 million.
