US military strikes a wedding in Iran's Sirik, killing 4 and wounding over 60; CENTCOM denies targeting civilians
The US military launched multiple overnight attacks on Kuhestak, Sirik County, Hormozgan province, close to the Strait of Hormuz, with local sources and authorities stating a wedding ceremony was struck. The Hormozgan governor's office identified four victims and reported over 60 wounded. US Central Command (CENTCOM) spokesperson Tim Hawkins said they were aware of reports of civilian casualties but claimed the US military never targets civilians.
