Iran's "Kheibar Shekan" (Persian for "Castle Breaker") missile is one of its newer medium-range ballistic missile systems, with a range of approximately 1,450 kilometers (901 miles) and a warhead capacity of 449-590 kilograms. This missile uses solid fuel propulsion, can be launched within minutes during a crisis, and is difficult to detect. This week, as the US-Iran conflict entered a new phase, Iran used this missile to retaliate against US military assets in Jordan and elsewhere after the US attacked Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, aiming to demonstrate its ample missile reserves.
