US-based money-transfer platform Felix Pago has raised $200 million in a funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz. The company, which currently operates a WhatsApp-based remittance platform, plans to use the capital to expand beyond remittances into financial services such as lending and savings for Latin American immigrants living in the US. Other participants in the round include QED Investors, Castle Island Ventures, Switch Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, and Endeavor. Felix Pago has processed over $8 billion in money transfers to date and plans to expand its operations to additional markets like Brazil and Venezuela.
