A recent report from Deutsche Bank Research highlights that submarine cables and communication satellite networks, which carry over 99% of global intercontinental data traffic, have evolved from public infrastructure into a core battleground for geopolitical competition. Tech giants such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon are vertically integrating into these sectors at an unprecedented pace, dominating investment. The report projects that the communication satellite market revenue will grow from approximately $26 billion in 2025 to $65-70 billion by 2030. Concurrently, with escalating geopolitical tensions, major economies like the United States and the European Union are accelerating legislation and investment to address infrastructure security threats and potential "shadow wars."
