South Korean Retail Investors Shift Leveraged ETF Demand to US Markets After Domestic Curbs
After South Korean regulators tightened trading rules on single-stock leveraged ETFs at home, retail investors' demand for leveraged bets has largely flowed into US-listed products. This has led Koreans to own unusually large portions of several leveraged ETFs, giving them an outsized presence in parts of the US market and potentially contributing to recent trading volumes that disrupted daytime access to popular products.
