This follows U.S. pressure on South Korea to participate in actions against Iran, which has restricted shipping in the strait. South Korea relies on the Strait of Hormuz for 61% of its crude oil imports and 54% of its naphtha imports. The presidential office emphasized that no final decision has been made, and factors such as domestic legal procedures, military readiness, and parliamentary approval are being reviewed.
