Brazil's Supreme Court is embroiled in a scandal of mutual accusations among judges, with the Chief Justice set to investigate the allegations.
Brazil's Supreme Court is considering opening an investigation into two judges who have accused each other of misconduct. Chief Justice Edson Fachin said on Friday that the Attorney General would be given five days to weigh the accusations against Justice André Mendonça. Justice Mendonça this week released a report accusing Justice Alexandre de Moraes of ties to Daniel Voccaro, a banker accused of fraud; de Moraes subsequently accused Mendonça of abuse of power for unsealing documents. The court will also decide next week whether to investigate de Moraes.
