Raytheon (RTX) has recently secured billions of dollars in defense contracts, including a $42.48 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense on September 1st, following a $22.9 billion contract for Tomahawk cruise missile production on August 17th. As of the end of the second quarter, RTX's defense backlog totaled approximately $119 billion, with a total backlog of about $289 billion.
