Netflix has once again raised prices for all its plans in the UK, with the ad-supported standard plan seeing the largest increase, from £5.99 to £7.99 per month. The ad-free standard plan and premium plan have also risen to £13.99 and £20.99, respectively. Following the news, Netflix shares fell 5.4% to $78.25 on Friday.
Despite the drop in Netflix's stock price after the price hike announcement, Motley Fool analysis indicates that Netflix has achieved annual revenue growth for the past 15 years, and previous price increases have not led to a decline in annual revenue. However, this latest price increase specifically targets the ad-supported plan, which has seen a 60% price jump in approximately 19 months. This could test the tolerance of its price-sensitive user base.
Netflix has once again raised prices for all its plans in the UK, with the ad-supported tier seeing the largest increase of up to one-third.
