Despite the near-universal adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) for drug research by pharmaceutical companies, few executives expect AI to genuinely lead to successful drug outcomes, according to a Citi survey released on Tuesday. John Yung, Citi's Head of Asia Healthcare Research, stated that the biggest risk for AI-driven drug discovery is not AI's failure to accelerate discovery, but rather that this acceleration may not translate into better drugs or a higher probability of success.
