Defiance ETFs has filed an application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch "hourly reset" leveraged ETFs that track popular tech stocks such as Meta and NVIDIA.
The fund series aims to shorten the return calculation cycle from one trading day to several hours, maintaining approximately twice the exposure to underlying securities through swap contracts or options, and rebalancing six times within each trading day. This move comes as global regulators continue to tighten scrutiny on leveraged ETF products. If approved, it would provide active traders with a more refined tool for intraday directional bets, but would also further amplify volatility risks.
