The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced that Christopher Woolcott has pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud and forgery. He created a fictitious takeover offer for Touchstone Exploration Inc., listed on AIM and the Toronto Stock Exchange, using forged documents and a false identity, intending to profit from a rise in the company's share price. Woolcott will be sentenced at a later date. Steve Smart, Executive Director of Enforcement and Market Oversight at the FCA, stated that markets must trust information that affects share prices, and the FCA will take action against deceptive conduct.
