SafeMoon (SFM) Project Review and Current Status Analysis: From Its Heyday to Bankruptcy and Restructuring
SafeMoon (SFM) was launched in 2021 as a community-driven DeFi token and attracted attention for its unique deflationary mechanism. However, the project suffered a security breach in 2023, and its founders and executives were subsequently charged by the U.S. SEC and Department of Justice with securities fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering, leading the company to file for bankruptcy in December 2023. Although the VGX Foundation acquired the project in April 2025 and migrated it to the Solana blockchain, the SFM token currently has extremely low trading volume, the market remains largely pessimistic, and the FBI is still seeking victims of the fraud.
