Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) executives stated at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference that the company is expanding its role in artificial intelligence from a semiconductor supplier to a provider of rack-scale systems and software. AMD is positioning its server CPU portfolio for increased demand from agentic AI workloads.

The company reiterated its growth targets of over 60% compound annual growth for its data center business and over 80% for its AI business. AMD also expects its data center business to more than double by 2027, and has increased its estimate for the server CPU total addressable market (TAM) to $220 billion by 2030, up from previous forecasts of $60 billion and $120 billion.
