Apple unveils $1,999 foldable iPhone Duo; The Motley Fool analyst questions its ability to significantly boost stock price
Apple recently unveiled its new foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, with a starting price of $1,999. David Jagielski, an analyst at The Motley Fool, believes that despite Apple's stock price rising over 20% year-to-date and its market capitalization reaching approximately $5 trillion, the iPhone Duo's high price, inherent screen crease and high repair costs associated with foldable phones, Apple's slow rollout of AI features, and the current unfavorable economic environment may hinder significant sales growth, thus failing to substantially boost Apple's stock price. The analyst also pointed out that Apple's current price-to-earnings ratio of 38x is overvalued, and if the Duo performs poorly, the stock price might retrace its recent gains.
