Goldman Sachs Alternatives closes $11.7 billion private equity fund
Goldman Sachs Alternatives announced on Tuesday it has completed fundraising for its latest private equity funds and related vehicles, totaling $11.7 billion. The sum includes $9.6 billion for its flagship buyout fund, West Street Capital Partners IX, $1.6 billion for the Asia-focused West Street Asia Equity Partners I, and $500 million for co-investment vehicles. West Street Capital Partners IX has already deployed over one-third of its capital, backing companies such as U.S. cybersecurity audit firm Schellman, European medical devices maker Numantec, and U.S. sports agency Excel Sports Management. The firm aims to deploy the fund's capital over the next four to four-and-a-half years, focusing on businesses valued between $500 million and $3 billion, with a typical holding period of four to five years.
