Labour representatives at German auto supplier Bosch demanded political action at the EU level to promote local production and prevent job losses in the industry. Bosch is cutting 13,000 jobs in its core automotive business by the end of the decade as carmakers battle Chinese competition, tariffs, and high production costs. The European Commission is currently assessing trade measures to protect local industry from low-cost Chinese carmakers like BYD and Chery.
