Cardano payments are now integrated into hundreds of x402 platforms, allowing applications and AI agents to make payments using ADA and CNTs.
The Cardano Foundation announced that Cardano has become an official part of the x402 SDK, enabling applications and AI agents to pay for API calls using ADA and Cardano Native Tokens (CNTs) via network requests. x402 is an open HTTP payment standard created by Coinbase and managed by the Linux Foundation, which the Cardano Foundation joined as an associate member in July 2026. This payment mechanism was merged into the x402 codebase in early September 2026, allowing all services on x402 to enable Cardano payments without requiring accounts, API keys, or checkout pages.
