Goldman Sachs Report: AI is Reshaping China's Entertainment Industry, Content Supply Approaches Infinity While Attention Remains Limited, Gaming Sector Shows Most Resilience
Goldman Sachs stated in its latest research report that AI is fundamentally reshaping the value chain and profit pools of China's entertainment industry. The core contradiction between an approaching infinite content supply and still limited user attention will profoundly change the industry landscape in the coming years, creating significant divergence across different segments and players. The report suggests that AI multimodal technology has already reduced content production costs by an average of over 80% to 90%, significantly shortening production cycles. For example, short-form drama output in the first eight months of 2026 expanded 13-fold compared to the entire year of 2025, and new game releases increased by over 8-fold. Goldman Sachs anticipates that value at the production and execution levels will be compressed, while the scarcity of top-tier IP and creative assets will be further highlighted.
