Security firm SlowMist has warned that the official iOS app for crypto trading platform FOMO contained malware capable of stealing users' seed phrases and private keys while it was available on the Apple App Store (September 9 to September 17). SlowMist Chief Information Security Officer Shān Zhang urged iPhone users on Saturday to update their iOS systems to protect against DarkSword malware, which exploits a WebKit memory corruption vulnerability in malicious Safari browser links. He stated that iPhones running iOS versions 13 through 26.5 are vulnerable, allowing hackers to gain root access and make unauthorized changes, thereby stealing crypto keys and wallet data. SlowMist advises users to consider any affected seed phrases, private keys, and sensitive credentials as compromised.
