Ireland's public broadcaster RTE will simplify its coverage of the event, with no commentators or half-time analysis, and will not accept advertising sponsorship. Irish Foreign Minister Helen McEntee stated that Ireland's position is clear, believing that international law is being violated, and accused Israel of attempting to "erase a population." Israel, in turn, criticized Ireland's stance, insisting that its actions in Gaza are self-defense.
