Qualcomm unveiled two flagship smartphone processors, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, at its annual Snapdragon Summit. The high-end Extreme version can natively run a 30-billion-parameter Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) model, designed to enhance the personalized experience of AI agents, and supports on-device personal shorthand, speaker differentiation, and memory construction based on user habits. The new chip also offers pixel-level camera control, supporting 8k60fps and 4K240 video recording, and introduces the Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec. Motorola has announced that its Signature 27 smartphone will feature the Snapdragon Gen 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and is expected to launch this year.
