Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, speaking at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, referred to Yemen's Houthi movement as a "terrorist militia" and accused the group of repeatedly attacking the holy city of Mecca. He called the Houthi actions targeting Mecca an "outrageous crime" and a provocation to the sentiments of Muslims worldwide. This follows Saudi Arabia's statement last week that it had intercepted a Houthi drone fired towards Mecca, which the Houthis denied. This month's deadly Houthi attacks have posed the biggest threat to Saudi security in years and exacerbated global energy supply risks.
