Argentine President Javier Milei, speaking at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, accused the United Nations of ignoring Argentina's long-standing sovereignty dispute with the UK over the Falkland Islands (Las Malvinas). Milei called the islands a "national cause" and criticized British-backed plans for offshore oil drilling, which Argentina considers illegal. Earlier this month, Argentina initiated sanctions against 60 companies and individuals linked to the drilling project.
