Microsoft updates Copilot app, integrating coding and productivity features to enhance enterprise AI competitiveness.
Microsoft Corp. on Friday launched an updated version of its Copilot application, aiming to integrate programming and complex productivity tasks into a single platform to attract more Office 365 enterprise customers. This move is a strategic adjustment by Microsoft as it seeks a breakthrough in enterprise AI, given that its flagship AI product currently has an adoption rate of less than 7% among 450 million Office 365 business users. The new application will offer Cowork, Code, and Autopilot features, with customers paying based on usage. Microsoft executive Jacob Andreou stated that the company prioritizes user value and output quality, with cost efficiency being a secondary consideration. This initiative also reflects Microsoft's efforts to catch up with competitors like Anthropic in the AI agent market.
