“Crypto Mom” Hester Peirce Officially Resigns from SEC, Effective Oct. 2
SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, known as “Crypto Mom” for her influential role in shaping U.S. cryptocurrency policy, has formally submitted her resignation. Her departure will be effective on October 2. Peirce has served as an SEC commissioner since January 2018, and her term was set to end in 2025, though SEC rules allow commissioners to remain in office for an additional 18 months. She is expected to join Regent University’s School of Law as an associate professor in November.
