U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright contacted major refiners on Thursday to assess their willingness to voluntarily limit diesel exports. This follows Donald Trump's Tuesday statement in support of restricting U.S. diesel exports. As of September 11, U.S. diesel inventories had fallen to 107.9 million barrels, the lowest level in over four decades. On Friday, the average price of U.S. diesel reached an all-time high of $6.50 per gallon.
