Israel's Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday that it has revoked the diplomatic status of Dutch diplomats at the Netherlands' Representative Office in Ramallah. This countermeasure comes in response to the Dutch government's ban on imports originating from Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, which came into force on September 22. The Dutch measure bans the import, purchase, and sale of goods and facilitating services from illegal Israeli settlements. The Netherlands is a major gateway for goods entering Europe, and accounted for a third of agricultural exports from Israel’s illegal settlements to the EU.
