Hong Kong's private home price index rose 0.06% MoM in August, reversing July's decline, while the rental index hit a fresh high with a 1.6% MoM increase.
The Rating and Valuation Department reported on Monday that Hong Kong's private home price index climbed to 320.5 in August. On a yearly basis, the index was up nearly 11%, accumulating almost 7% gain in the first eight months of this year. Prices of small and medium-sized units were flat MoM but rose 11% YoY, while large units gained 0.4% MoM and 9.5% YoY. The rental index rose for the 10th consecutive month to 210.3, with a yearly gain of nearly 5.3% and a 4.9% increase in the first eight months of the year.
