An appeals court in Iran has confirmed a sentence of 74 lashes for prominent singer Parastoo Ahmadi, who performed without the mandatory hijab in a livestreamed concert in December 2024. Her lawyers stated on Friday that their appeal was rejected without a hearing. Ahmadi and eight members of her team were also banned from audiovisual activities and from leaving the country for two years, after being convicted of "offending public decency."
