AMD announced on Monday that it has reached an agreement to acquire San Francisco AI lab World Labs. The company was founded by renowned AI researcher Fei-Fei Li and primarily develops "world models" that can be used to simulate 3D environments. AMD had previously invested in World Labs. AI researchers hope that world models will help develop robots and other physical AI applications.
